12/27/25

Visited Grandma's grave and took some pictures for my Uncle. He had mailed Mom a beautiful plaque with a red cardinal that he wanted sat on her gravestone, so we made sure to arrange it with the flowers. I printed a picture with my new Selphy for Mom to mail to him.

Tried a local Mexican restaurant with my family afterward that was cheap and delicious. Despite it being balls to the walls busy, their kitchen was quick with our food too.

Made sujeonggwa, which is a Korean dessert drink that's supposed to aid with digestion. IDK about that but I love cinnamon and ginger, so I think it's amazing.

Found a Hickory Farms charcuterie set for $14 that we're going to eat on NYE whilst playing board games. We also picked up a bouquet of orange roses to put on Grandma's grave; her favourite colour was orange and there were so few bouquets left in the store that it seemed like fate to find that exact colour.

My brother and SB thought that the cookies I made came from a professional bakery. High praise!

We went over to my parents to open presents. Both J and I were very spoiled.
I recieved:

- A set of very nice New Balance athletic socks for the gym
- A Pandora charm from my Mom (a firefly that says "free spirit")
- A Pandora charm from J (two kitties snuggled up to each other that says "I'll always be there for you")
- $50 in Swig gift cards because I'm obsessed
- A World of Warcraft Funko from my brother
- A set of the Fallout Jones Soda collab that came with bottle caps and a Vault-Tec themed bottle cap opener

J recieved:
- a new iPad
- Logitech gaming headset
- Jumanji board game
- Special edition Darth Vader Funko

Merry Christmas Eve!

My poor sister had to put one of her guinea pigs down because she had stomach cancer. Her name was Mocha.

All I had left to bake were the Mexican Wedding Cookies, which I wanted to be as fresh as possible.

We UberEats'd some extremely large pizza pies from a local pizza joint for dinner and watched Santa on the NORAD, which is a tradition.

Went to KBBQ with Mom and J! We got her to try pineapple galbi and beef bulgolgi, along with radish kimchi. She paid for us, which was very sweet.

We met up with SH after to give MW her Christmas present and we sat in a boba shop and yapped for a while. They had a killer earl grey boba.

Made Spritz Cookies and Peppermint Bark so I didn't have to do everything on Christmas Eve. This turned out to be the move.

Claire had another sinus attack, so we took her to the vet. They do not seem to think that she's asthmatic because her lungs sound clear. She got a steroid shot to help whatever's going on in her little nose.

Went to the Galleria Mall in Dallas to see the largest indoor Christmas tree. It's so beautiful!

Before TSO, we had time to kill, so we went to Micro Center. J got me a new Akko keeb and Logitech mouse for an early Christmas present because I collect mechanical keyboards.

I got a raglan shirt at TSO before the concert, it's one of the nicer band tees I've seen.

The show was wonderful--they never disappoint! I didn't take any pictures because I was mesmerized the entire time.

Cleaned the heckie out of my Pandora charm bracelet because I wanted to wear it to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Had to make an emergency trip to Target because my old ballet flats were too big now, since they were a size 11 like the boots I mentioned earlier. I got a pair of chunky combat boots.

For my birthday back in September, I received a pair of Fabuletics leggings. They were an XL, but they didn't fit at the time because their XL was a 12/14 instead of a 16/18. Today... they fit!

We had made the decision of baking for the adults instead of gift giving, so I received the Kitchenaid food processor I needed to make Mexican Wedding Cookies (you have to pulverize pecans and my blender isn't powerful enough) and an OXO Cookie Press for Spritz Cookies.

Dad has a yearly tradition of giving each of us $100 to spend on Mom a present, so J and I picked out some (hopefully) comfortable Ascics because she had been complaining about her current pair of shoes hurting her feet. Crossing my fingers.

Wrapped the presents we picked up for MW and J's step sister's son, L. I found extremely cute faux vintage Santa paper at Five Below.

Claire had two sinus attacks, so me and J worked together to eliminate as much dust as we could from the apartment. I also packed up our candles to give to Mom and JL; with her allergies, we're not taking any chances in hurting her.

My super comfy extended calf boots are too big now, both in size and width. My shoe size was an 11 when I was heavier, it's back down to my usual size 10. I no longer need extended calf, so they look really baggy on my legs.

Took a trip over to Mom's to pick up some needed medicine that gets shipped there for safe keeping. We picked up Little Caesars on the way home and watched Home Alone as our holiday movie of the week.

Rearranged the IKEA peg boards that hang above my computer desk. I really like the compilation now; it's easy to get to my scissors, paper cutter, and over-the-ear headphones.

I ordered a PINK x LoveShackFancy hoodie and man, it was a PITA. I got an email saying it was out of stock, then I got one saying that it shipped. I did eventually end up receiving it; I'm glad I used a coupon because that thing should not retail at $90! It's foil graphics, even though it's very cute.

Had to rush Claire to the emergency vet because she snatched a Midol heat patch and scattered the innards across the apartment. Most of the ingredients aren't poisonous but they contain lead, which is harmful to cats. We had an X-Ray taken of her gastro tract to make sure there was no lead and we got very lucky that all she did was make a mess.

Later that day, we went over to JL and CL's to feed their animals. JL didn't specify that her pug has to eat the big dog food because he has a habit of choking. I gave him a bowl of the small dog food and he literally kneeled over and passed out; J had to fish kibble out of his throat and sit him upright. That was fucking scary as all hell.

This was not a very good day.

Got Insomnia Cookies delivered and watched our first Christmas movie of the season, The Muppets Christmas Carol. It was absolutely delightful!

Happy December! Wow, this year has flown by; so much has happened in the past 12 months.

I decorated the apartment with the totes of holiday decor I brought over from my parent's house on Thanksgiving. I'm missing a tub or two of decor, but I'm very happy with the progress I made so far! I'm hoping to rescue the rest of the totes, along with our tree this weekend.
